Why do I ask? I recently spoke with a Hair Stylist who shared she no longer enjoyed doing braided styles. She found someone she could refer new clients who wanted those services. But for her ‘regulars’, who had been so loyal, she was still performing those styles. Which meant spending 3-4 hours of her day, doing something she hated. I was so saddened to hear this. Why would you spend so much time doing something you don’t enjoy? Especially when there is something else that she’s super passionate about, that could help a lot of people. It has to do with not wanting to disappoint our clients and not wanting them to not like us, or leave. And it’s more common than you might think.
