Where do you fit in? 🤔 Struggling or SuperStar?
This seems like a good time to reintroduce myself. Realizing I’ve spent most of my career helping Stylists go from Struggling to SuperStar, starting with MYSELF, is very humbling. I worked in an office to put myself through Cosmetology School, then moved across the country from Houston to the DMV (Washington, DC) to set the world on fire with my styling skills, only to have to give up my dream of being a great Stylist and go back to get another office job, because I wasn’t building a clientele fast enough and I wasn’t able to pay my bills!
Gratefully, I was given the opportunity to work evenings and weekends until I could build my clientele. I thought it would take about a year. In reality, it only took 6 months. In that 6 months, I was a sponge, focused and gained clarity on what I wanted my clientele to look like, built my confidence, my communication skills, marketing skills and (my styling skills), and I was willing to assist everyone!
It’s crazy to think that from those humble beginnings I went on to become one of the first African American Owners of a full service Salon & Day Spa in the country. Then, by sharing what worked for me to build quickly, serving a high end clientele, I led my fabulous team to one of Salon Today’s ‘200 Fastest Growing Salons’ for 3 consecutive years!! Some of my former team members are still some of the top Stylists in the DMV - and they work smarter, not harder!
Along the way, I became an Educator, and I’ve been able to share my ‘secrets’ with tens of 1,000s of Hairstylists across the country, and some globally to go from struggling to 6-figures and beyond!
